Our Carrot Traycake and Victoria Sponge Traycake have been honoured at the 2025 Devon Food and Drink Awards, earning Platinum and Gold for quality and craftsmanship.
From small artisan makers to established producers, the awards shine a light on the passion that makes Devon’s food scene so special. We’re proud to play our part in that community, and truly honoured to be recognised among such an incredible lineup of Devon businesses.
Our team attended the awards ceremony and had a fantastic evening celebrating with fellow Devon producers, suppliers, and chefs.

A Night to Remember at the Devon Food and Drink Awards
This annual celebration recognises the region’s exceptional producers, celebrating everything from farm-fresh ingredients to artisan producers and South West eateries. We’d like to congratulate a few of our fellow winners who continue to make Devon’s food scene so special - including Chunk of Devon, Good Game Charcuterie, Sandford Orchards and Devon Hampers, among many others.
Devon’s food and drink community is thriving, and we’re proud to stand alongside so many talented local producers - baking cakes that reflect the same care, quality, and pride that make this region a true destination for food lovers.
Here are a few highlights from the evening...
Local Ingredients Behind Our Devon Food and Drink Awards Wins
Our Carrot Traycake, which scooped the Platinum award, is made using freshly grated carrots from our local supplier Frank H Mann. They also deliver our weekly fruit boxes to the bakery - helping us balance out the amount of cake the team eats with something a little healthier!
Lightly spiced and studded with juicy sultanas, this moist traycake is finished with a smooth cream cheese frosting that gives it a classic homemade feel. We also use this same recipe to bake our large 10" round Carrot Cake, which has become a firm favourite with customers across the South West.
Our Victoria Sponge Traycake, awarded Gold, is a true British classic made the Truly Treats way - just like you would at home, only on a bigger scale. Each traycake is filled with quality strawberry jam from Halzephron in Cornwall and topped with a smooth buttercream, made with natural vanilla paste from LittlePod, just down the road from us in Exeter.
The result is a light, buttery sponge with a rich, authentic flavour in every slice.
Both of these traycakes are handmade with care in our Devon bakery, using quality ingredients and traditional methods.
